dc fashion week

I bet you didn't know there was such a thing! Well, there is. It starts tomorrow, and my handbags will be featured in one of the shows this Sunday at the Embassy of France. I can't tell you how excited I am! Not just to have my designs in my first ever fashion show (which is pretty thrilling all by itself), but because I will be showing with a group of local designers under the collective name Dekka. We're showing together at fashion week because from now on we'll be working together as Dekka at an incredible retail location on U Street! Dekka is a family of like-minded creative individuals who have banded together to bring unique and independent fashion, art, and music to the DC area. (Do I sound like a press release or what?) The web site is still under construction and the store isn't quite open yet, but rest assured you all will be invited to (all of) the grand opening party(ies)!

Tonight I'm off to the first of two fittings and to finalize which models we'll be using on Sunday. I'm really excited about both fashion week and about Dekka, and I know you guys will love the store as much as I do once you see it! No more shopping at the mall for you locals! There's already so much cool stuff on display at the store and it's not even half full yet! Stay tuned for more official invites...the tentative Grand Opening is March 15. Save the date!
